A rocky summit cairn beneath a pink-blue dawn sky, with a pale moon over distant hills

Your trips have been keeping notes.

Your own record of the trips already behind you, gathered privately before you plan the next one.

18 completed trips. Six days with gusts above 50 km/h. A coldest recorded feels-like of -11°C. Those are the numbers in the screen below. They were already in the trip records, but not together. Insights is a quiet place to look back at the patterns in your own trips before you plan the next one.

The record, not the verdict

Insights looks across your own trips, not a pool of everyone else's. It brings together pack weights, repeat gear, trip length, activity, routes, food planning, and group trips. Its conditions panel uses historical weather already stored on your past trips.

Every part carries its own coverage. If some trips have a route and others do not, it says so. If weather has only been saved for part of your history, the condition figures use that part and show the denominator. It does not fetch missing weather records just to make a chart look complete.

The conditions panel keeps its coverage in view: 18 of 18 completed trips have stored historical weather.

Enough history

One completed trip with gear gives the page something concrete to recap. Cross-trip patterns start after 3 qualifying trips. It waits for five before using "typically". The information gets fuller with time, but the page does not invent a trend while that history is still thin.

Private by default

Insights is only for the owner of the account. It never appears on a public profile, a shared link, or somebody else's trip. It is a look back, not a weather forecast or a safety tool. The point is to make the record you have kept more useful when the next trip turns up.

Insights is new and still changing. It is included with Supporter, and you will find it in Trips.

I hope it gives you a small record of the trips you have already had, and a better place to start the next one.
