I wanted the move into OutPack to include the gear itself, not just a set of names and weights. CSV upload now lets you bring an existing list across, with item photos included when your CSV carries them.
Start with what you already have
Drop in an OutPack export, a LighterPack CSV, or a CSV from your own spreadsheet. If the column names are different, map them during review. Name is the only required column. Weights can include units and quantities, and missing brands can be set to “Generic” before you save.

A row can carry the details you already keep: brand, type, notes, cost, product link, and an optional photo. Put a public direct JPG, PNG, or WebP link in the image URL column. Small embedded data URLs work too. The link needs to point at the image itself, rather than a product page.
Spreadsheet-embedded image objects do not normally survive a CSV export. If the spreadsheet writes the image into the cell as a URL or data URL, OutPack can use it. Otherwise the list still imports, just without that photo.
Check it before it joins the gear closet
Nothing goes straight into your inventory. OutPack reads the file, fills the gaps it can, and gives you a review table before saving. Fix a brand, change a type, or remove a row while it is still just an import.
Items are created first, then their photos are checked and copied in the background. A bad photo link will not lose the gear, and failed photo imports can be retried without creating duplicate items.
One inventory, then the actual trip
Once the list is in, those items are ready for kits, packs, and trips. The CSV gets you past the boring bit of typing everything out again, and the photos make the gear closet look like the one you already know.
I hope it saves you the retyping, and leaves more time for deciding what actually goes in the pack.
