It's Christmas holidays but a call to camp is strong with a break from the house.
Beautiful evening with no wind, leading into +30km/h gusts and wind chill of -10C.

Timeline
A quick dash out the house when the days were still short led for a long time in a tent atop a hill - a welcome break. The simple pleasure of cooking food and listening to some radio. I bulked up for extra warmth with a quilt to top my sleeping bag and a hot water bottle - could have done with just a dash more fuel to get it piping hot but alas I was never cold.
Trip Start
Quick hike up the pentlands from car park - racing before sun sets
Pitch
• Location not shared
Strong pitch but I had not used the tent in a while and with winds picking up in the night I should have done it tighter - as the outer was banging against the inner.

Spirit Burner · Wildside Adventures
This was a cold night, I cooked some dumplings in the Featherlight 700 but it took many attempts for me to start this spirit burner - I really need to keep warm it up before hand. The Toaks mug that comes with this is relatively small and I am better cooking food in batches save burning at the bottom. Still love it, thinking of trying a frying pan next time on top of this Featherlight.
Southern Cross 1 · Terra Nova
I am not ready to swap this out yet, even if it is heavy and the outer flaps a bit against the inner in the wind, as I always feel it can handle being atop a windy hill which gives me the sleep I need.
