Trip Report
For the time of year this trip worked out great. I was conscious of not heading too far North and into the snow line so Ben Chonzie proved perfect as it had just enough snow to keep a couple of tins cold without the need of crampons and ice axes.
We set off from the Loch Turret Car Park and went the clockwise route past a world of frogs before the incline began in earnest. Wind was due to pick up as the night went on so we found a pitch on the lee side to avoid the worst of it through the night.
The treat was getting to use my new Frying Pan with a couple of steaks we picked up in Crieff. There was a cold wind by the time we started cooking them and it felt pretty primal eating them with the treat of a can of snow cooled Belhaven Best.
The views were great in all directions of the pitch, with the choice of hill vindicated as we could see far more snow towards The Lawer's Group just a bit further North.
